Animal & Nature Yoga

Animal Yoga

Surround yourself with adorable critters while striking your favorite yoga pose led by a certified yoga instructor!

Goat Yoga - Ages 12+
Out in our round pen, you will have the chance to interact with goats and sheep while being guided through your yoga session. (Note: goats are fully grown and will not be climbing on participants).

Chicken Yoga - All Ages
Join us in the barn for some chicken yoga! As part of the experience, our animal handlers will teach you how to catch your very own chicken to bring to your yoga session with you!

During your animal yoga session, we will have trained animal handlers to ensure that everyone remains safe and calm.

Join us on the hill and get a beautiful view of the Dreamcatcher™ ranch while moving through a series of yoga poses led by our certified yoga instructor.

Time on the Land

Guided animal tours

Meet our therapy animals on one of our guided animal tours! Dreamcatcher™ is home to a variety of rescue farm animals including horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, and chickens. During your tour, you will have the opportunity to interact with our animals in their pens, hear about their stories, and learn about all about the meaningful work they do.
Our guides will ensure our guests have safe interactions with the animals.

In the summer, our trails transform into a magical adventure where you can explore the beauty of nature, have a picnic, or find all of the magical creatures hidden throughout the trails. Sit in our Serenity Garden or view our lightning-struck "L" tree!

Meditation

Forest Bathing

Take a break from your tech and escape into nature. This activity allows you to walk through 40 acres of beauty without interruption.

Tropical Barn Breathing

Take meditation to a whole new level and engage all your sense. Enjoy guided breathing and meditation in our magnificent barn.

Event Information

There is parking in front of the office and along the trees to the right when you pull in. A wheel-chair accessible outhouse is available for all guests to use while visiting our ranch. There is a designated smoking bench with an astray provided, for the health of our animals and other participants, please do not smoke anywhere else on the property. Alcohol and drug use is prohibited unless stated otherwise.

We will have a market booth available at our events where you can find brochures and items for you to purchase such as snacks, refreshments, Dreamcatcher™ merchandise, animal treats, as well as yoga mat rentals. Purchases can be made via cash (preferred), debit, Visa, Mastercard or Email Money Transfer (e-transfer).

Visitors may bring a picnic lunch and enjoy their meal at various locations, however, please do not feed the animals as it may make them sick.

Majority of event activities will be outdoors, to make your experience more enjoyable, we recommend that you bring sunscreen, and if you plan to go into the magical forest, you may want to bring bug spray or wear long sleeve shirts and pants. We also recommend that you check the weather prior to coming out to the ranch and dress for the weather - if it is raining, we highly recommend bringing a pair of rubber boots!

How to Book

You can book your experiences through Eventbrite when events become available.

Upon completing your registration through Eventbrite, you will be emailed the following:
• Notification of registration from Eventbrite and tickets.
• Confirmation email detailing the process for signing in, details for concession stand, and safety practices.

Note: Booking times are only available outside of Dreamcatcher™ client sessions. During the week, we are a working ranch that provides psychological services, and to maintain confidentiality and security for our clients, we do not offer public activities during the week. We ask that visitors please refrain from coming to the ranch during this time to respect their privacy and we thank you for your cooperation!

Safety Policy

Dreamcatcher™ takes safety very seriously, and while we do all that we can to ensure that our guests have a safe visit at our ranch, we require all visitors to sign a waiver prior to participating in our event. Recreation Code of Conduct and Liability Waiver

Though incidents are rare, participants may still be at risk of sustaining an injury. If an incident does occur, we will provide you with first aid, and if necessary, we will call emergency services for you. We will also ask you to fill out an incident report form as early as possible.

It is the responsibility of the participant to follow all Dreamcatcher™ safety requirements provided to you by Dreamcatcher™ event staff and volunteers. Failure to do so, may lead to serious injury and/or exclusion from some or all activities.

Here are some guidelines that can help foster a positive experience and keep you safe during your visit:

For the safety of your animals and ours, please do not bring your pets to the ranch!
Please do not enter animal pens without a staff or volunteer present.
Visitors are required to wear closed-toed footwear to access the animal pens, those who do not wear appropriate footwear, will be asked to wait outside of the pens/coops.
Parents are responsible for the safety of their children; they are required to accompany them in all activities and must not leave their children unattended.
Please do not bring treats into the animal pens, we recommend that you purchase your animal treats after your tour or yoga session and feed them over the fence.
Please be respectful towards all Dreamcatcher™ visitors, staff, volunteers, and animals as this will create a fun and positive environment for everyone involved.

Refund policy

Tickets are non-refundable, but in the event that you are unable to attend your visit and have given us at least 24 hours notice, we can rebook the visit to another date and time. Contact us here to rebook your visit.

We also require at least 5 bookings for any of our event activities, should we fall short of this number, we may have to postpone or cancel the event. If this happens, we will contact all participants 24 hours before the event. We encourage you to book your spot early to avoid any disappointment.

In the event of severe weather conditions, the event may be postponed or cancelled. In this case, we will do our best to contact you at least 24 hours prior to your visit and will offer to rebook at this time.

Disclaimers & Disclosures

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO DISCLOSURE
Our events are public events and we will have staff and volunteers taking photos and/or videos. By attending our public events, you are consenting to photos and/or videos of yourself or your dependents to be used for any and all purposes including marketing. If you do not want to be in any photos or videos, please inform the staff and volunteers at the event and we will do our best to not include you, though we cannot guarantee full exclusion.

YOGA DISCLAIMER
Participants' property may be damaged during the yoga session. While we encourage the goats to be in the session with them, the goats are free to roam the pasture and may not be in attendance during the entire session. If it is raining, we may move to the barn However, if they are not engaged, we will ensure that participants get time spent with the goats after their session.

TOUR DISCLAIMER
Like humans, animals can experience "off" days, we respect their right to refuse participation in event activities or interactions. Tour guides will use their discretion when providing their tours. Animals may be separated during some activities and some animal interactions may be limited. This is for the safety of our guests and the ethical care of our animals.

Individual applicants will receive one FREE Time on the Land ticket with the purchase of one adult ticket.
Email us to book your child’s FREE Time on the Land visit between May and June. Please ensure your child is in attendance with a ticket bearing adult.

Note: All adults attending must purchase their ticket at this time.
For group applications (i.e., schools, daycares, etc.), please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss the option of a year end field trip or an individual child discount for a Time on the Land visit.

Fur Fun Days

about the program

Dreamcatcher™ provides therapeutic recreation field trips to the Ranch for school aged children, seniors, group home youth, at risk youth, inner-city people, and so many more! These visits give an opportunity to teach participants about humane-education through engagement with animals and nature, while renewing a sense of purpose and hope among older participants, and instilling wonder and compassion in younger generations.

All Fur Fun Days are specially tailored to meet the needs of the participants. The program offers Animal-Assisted Therapy with a mental health component as well as Animal-Assisted Activities which provide opportunity for hands-on learning.

To date, Dreamcatcher™ participants have come from Head start programs, Elementary, Junior, and Senior High Schools, Shelters, Recovery Centres, Post Secondary Schools, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and more to experience our interactive animal activities first hand.

About Our facilitators

Dreamcatcher™’s dedicated team of qualified group leaders and animal handlers are accompanied by several species of farm animals who have been specially screened, trained, and certified. These animals are the key aspect of our animal and nature assisted programs and provide a unique and highly engaging medium for reaching and engaging members of our communities.

Workshops

Blacksmithing

Dreamcatcher™ has partnered with Northfork Forge to provide blacksmithing workshops.

Otherwise known as "forging", blacksmithing is the ancient art of crafting metal objects through the process of heating and shaping metals to create a design.
Our workshop includes a full day of blacksmithing with 3 projects to create and take home!
Some projects we have done in the past are bottle openers, fire pokers, steak turners, coat racks, hotdog sticks, letter openers, and leaf pendant/keychain. Let us know what you would like to build next!

Woodworking

Want to learn how to build picnic tables, lounging chairs, animal shelters, and more? At one of our woodworking workshops, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced handymen and build skills working with wood, while also contributing to a project for our ranch!

Farm Experience

Have you always wanted to experience the farm life?
Our farm experience workshops offer a variety of farm related activities where you can learn how to chop wood, muck horse stalls, clean chicken coops, collect eggs, fix fences, and much more!

Photography Venue

About

Take a short 15-minute drive to Dreamcatcher™ to find serene and peaceful exposure, while you and your clients explore our forested and trailed 40-acre property.

Our ranch is home to a variety of farm animals, pastures, forested trails, a duck pond, and a hill overlooking the entire ranch.

Immerse your clients in everything nature and animals have to offer with an experience like no other.

Please note:
This is a rental venue only.
Dreamcatcher™ is unable to provide a photographer for this experience. Client's who wish to have their professional photos taken at our ranch must secure their own.
All photographers must read and sign our Rental Agreement Form prior to booking space for their client.

Packages & Rental Costs

Packages are available in hourly increments, half day and full day reservations, and with or without animals.
Combined packages may be available for client's booking our venue for both photography and a private function. Please contact us for a quote.

Rental Cost:
One hour session is $100 and $50 for any additional hours added.
Booking with animals are extra.
All animals require a 30 min break for every 15 minutes they are worked with in session. Please view our Meet Our Team page to see our animals.
Note: some animals are unable to be worked with and are not included in the list below.

Bookings are available Fridays 9am-4pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-8pm, and some Holidays. Payment is due at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations with 2 weeks' notice will be provided a full refund minus $50 cancellation fee.
Cancellations with 3 days' notice will be provided a full refund minus $75 cancellation fee.
Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 72 hours' notice. Some exceptions may apply such as emergency or severe weather. All refunds are subject to a 4% service charge of original payment, if payment was with a credit card.

Birthday Parties

About

Create lifelong memories of your child’s momentous occasion by celebrating their birthday with us and our caring critters! With additional fun activities and crafts, a Magical Forest adventure, and special animal interactions, your child will experience a birthday like never before!

Each birthday party includes:

3 hours of fun with 2 Dreamcatcher™ staff
Up to 6 youth and 2 adults with the option for additional participants
Getting up close and personal in a Meet and Greet with our animals
A scavenger hunt through the Magical Forest Trail
A craft for you and your friends to complete

Booking & Costs

Bookings are only available on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays between 10am-6pm for 3 hours.

We ask that you please book your birthday party at least one month in advance. While we will try our best to be able to host your party, bookings will be based on staff availability. Payment is due 2 weeks prior to the party date.

Costs:
$450 plus tax which covers up to 6 youth and 2 adults.
Add-Ons:

Additional Child: $40 per person
Additional Adult: $10 per person
Weenie Roast & Fire Pit: $12 per person - we supply the food
Fire Pit Only: $40 food not provided by us

Note: fire pit will only be used if there is no county fire ban or if windy. Refunds will be given if either occur.

Cancellation Policy

Payment and confirmation of attendance is due 2 weeks prior to the party date. Parties are not eligible for a refund once payment has been processed.
Cancellations with 3 days' notice will be provided a full refund minus $75 cancellation fee.
Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 72 hours' notice. Some exceptions may apply such as emergency or severe weather.
Should Dreamcatcher™ need to cancel your booking for issues on our end, a full refund will be provided without a cancellation fee.
However, should we need to cancel the booking or send home guests due to inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour towards Dreamcatcher™ staff, animals, property and/or other guests, a refund will not be provided and additional fees may be charged if damages to the property have occurred.
All refunds are subject to a 4% service charge of original payment, if payment was with a credit card.

Scars puppy yoga Adoption event 2023

On April 22, 2023, Dreamcatcher partnered with Second Chance at Life Animal Rescue Society to do a puppy yoga adoption event!

ALBERTA OPEN FARM DAYS & ROADSIDE STAND TOUR 2023

Last August, Dreamcatcher participated in Alberta Open Farm Days & Roadside Stand Tour for the first time.
Our location was one of the most popular with over 400 attendees throughout the day!

DISNEY'S PROMOTIONAL WISH EVENT 2023

Disney approached us last fall to host a promotional event for their movie, Wish to celebrate their 100th anniversary!
Kids came dressed up as their favorite Disney character, danced with goats in the barn to Disney music, watched the new Wish trailer & had a chance to win tickets to the pre-showing of the move in theatres!
