Fuzzy Face Express

The Fuzzy Face Express (FFE) Program is a mobile animal program which provides therapeutic recreation; aid for mental health disorders; social interaction and joy for those who are elderly, homeless, sick or shut in. Visits provide an opportunity to teach  school-aged children about humane-education through engagement including youth at risk of being in trouble with the law. Visits renew a sense of purpose and hope among the participants.

FFE’s dedicated team of mental health therapists and animal handlers are accompanied on location by several species of farm animals who have been specially screened, trained and certified. These animals are the key aspect of the FFE program and provide a unique and highly engaging medium for reaching members of the community who may otherwise be hard to reach due to location, financial status or otherwise.

The FFE Program helps people in the following ways:

  • Building relationships
  • Increasing self-esteem
  • Teaching empathy
  • Decreasing anxiety and depression
  • Building life skills
  • Providing unconditional love and acceptance
  • Increasing motivation to meet therapeutic goals
  • And more
All FFE visits are specially tailored to meet the needs of the participants. The program offers Animal-Assisted Therapy with a mental health component as well as Animal-Assisted Activities which provide opportunity for hands on learning.

The FFE Program travels to many community locations such as, but not limited to:

Shelters
  • Schools
  • Nursing homes
  • Recovery centres
  • Hospitals

In addition to traveling to community organizations, Dreamcatcher™ FFE Program also offers community groups the opportunity to visit the Dreamcatcher™ ranch for hands on interactive animal activities.
