Psychologists will guide and facilitate each participant to learn about themselves, evaluate their current patterns of behaviour and thinking and then implement alternate, healthier methods of expressing themselves. Through interactive work with the animals, participants will discover, learn, grow and find balance.

- Encourage healthy thinking; how to express and manage emotions appropriately, self-esteem and confidence, increase self and body awareness, develop assertiveness and healthy boundaries through appropriate communication and gain new life skills through interactions with horses and other animals in a natural setting.
- Allow participants to spend much of the retreat interacting with equines and other animals, many of whom were rescued and are now thriving with the love and acceptance of the people who attend Dreamcatcher™ programs.
- Encourage participants to engage in fun yet challenging activities, including learning to communicate and develop a healthy relationship with many different animal species, to work as a team to accomplish a variety of animal-related tasks, exploring and respecting nature and developing a mutually rewarding relationship with all the Dreamcatcher™ animals.
Kid-Capable Half Day Camp
Is your child interested in animals and the outdoors? Do they have challenges with their confidence and emotional regulation skills which impact their social world? If so, this is the camp for your child! This camp is designed to assist your child to increase skills beneficial to overcome barriers that that may be impacting them negatively. The first day is designed to get to know each other and the animals while the staff complete a functional assessment on each child. Tuesday through Thursday we work on skill building based on the group’s needs and partaking in activities based on their interests. The final day is a review and celebration day. Activities will include working with chickens, grooming and walking donkeys and horses and various other teamwork-based activities with the animals. At times we will incorporate various physical activity games, nature walks, crafts, art, and outdoor skills.
